Law - Grace

I was just tired of seeing half a quote.  I'm assuming you're all pretty smart people and realized that quoting something half way is sometimes worse than keeping your mouth shut.  It would be like reading the Bible and the  moment you get just past the Law......you stop reading.  You would never get to the part where the GRACE comes to the forefront.

I am not under law, but under grace;

It is grace that rescued me,

It is grace that keeps me free.

I have sought, I have found my hiding-place,

I am not under law, but under grace.

(SASB c164)

It is interesting to find that God is directing me back to this age-old journey of grace.  What did I miss the last time, I wonder?   How do you see grace play out in your life?  blessings......

Special Place

Okay .... I've waited a month and didn't get much response from feeling loved (thanks MAP for your response)...  How about a half a quote?  (#287)

"There is a special place in hell for women..."

Starbucks Coffee Card

I feel loved.

I know I’m loved……but the other day, I got this card in the mail that made me FEEL loved.  I am so overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness, that I cannot put into words what I feel in my heart………

So, to the one who did the sending………THANK YOU….. you already know that you are loved……now if I could only work out a hug through the cyber channels…. so now....when do we get to share this coffee?

When was the last time you did something so wonderful for a friend?  Or someone did something for you, for that matter?

Bread

Bread Slices I’m rather fussy about bread…..none of that processed American stuff for me when I have a choice……but the dense, fresh out of the oven, melt in your mouth kind of bread is hard to turn down.

I recently had a conversation with God that included the fact that the Christmas Scripture readings and sermons often sound like the same old, same old.  And this year I desperately needed God to show me something interesting.  Once again, God came through……

This past Sunday as Andrew was delivering his Christmas sermon, he pointed to the manger at the foot of the cross in the Chapel and reminded us that Jesus came and was placed in the feeding trough of the barn animals………. of course my mind went it's own direction and this is where it led me.......

….. the feeding trough……

….. the Bread of Life was placed in the feeding trough…..

….. in the little town of Bethlehem….the House of Bread.

Don’t you just love it when God reminds you of something that you know in your head but that hadn’t had much life changing significance?

God is truly the sustenance of my life!  The Bread of the Presence is making a huge impact on my life and I am so grateful to be able to watch Him move in me and around me and among my friends and family and Corps!  God has worked in visible ways in these past few months, and it is exciting to be able to remind each other that it is God at work……doing what He does best.

I don’t have all the answers to life’s questions………but I do know that God does!

Personally, I like the Panera Whole Grain and Cosi’s White bread ……… What is your favorite bread?  I like it just plain, dipped in oil and herbs or with a nice hot chicken soup….. What about you?

.....................................Trust you've all had a very Merry (Murray) Christmas!

Traditions

I haven't felt much like posting recently.  Haven't felt up to much of anything really.  But it seems to me that no matter how a person feels we need to keep doing........

I've just spent the last two hours preparing for one of our holiday traditions .... gettting the base to the "Pink Stuff" ready.  I packed up twelve - let me repeat - 12 packets of the base.  I remember watching my grandmother preparing this when I was a kid.

What is the Pink Stuff?  Well, there are grapes and apples and bananas and walnuts and marshmallows and a little known ingredient that when it's mixed with real whipped cream makes it turn pink!  Yummy!

If you don't know what it is......... either you'll have to come to Sunday Dinner at the Corps or stop by our house on Thanksgiving to try it yourself.  And if you don't like it .... we don't mind at all ..... means there is more for us to fight over as to who gets to take home the leftovers.  So friends and family ...... come on over for some Pink Stuff.

Do you have a family tradition from your childhood that you still do?
